Role and Responsibilities:
As an entry-level Waste Management Sorting Associate, you perform visual inspection and material sorting inside processing facilities to maintain high-quality recyclable commodities.
- Inspect incoming recyclable materials along conveyor belts in indoor processing facilities
- Rapidly identify and separate paper, cardboard, plastics, and metals into designated drop chutes
- Safely remove non-recyclable contaminants, plastic bags, and hazardous materials from sorting lines
- Assist with clearing line obstructions and maintaining clean sorting belt workstations
- Perform end-of-shift facility sweeps and clean up loose materials around processing machinery
- Comply fully with plant safety procedures and wear all required personal protective gear
Required Skills and Experience:
- Ability to perform standing physical labor along fast-moving sorting conveyor belts
- Good eye-hand coordination and physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Comfort working in an industrial material processing plant setting
- Strong dependability, punctuality, and focus on team safety rules
- Ability to follow supervisor instructions accurately
