Role and Responsibilities:
As an entry-level Waste Management Route Helper, you support commercial and residential pickup routes by assisting collection drivers with bin loading, spotter guidance, and route safety.
- Assist route drivers with collecting residential, commercial, and bulk waste containers
- Guide drivers safely during vehicle reversing maneuvers in tight alleys or commercial docks
- Position commercial dumpsters for hydraulic truck lift hookups and operate packing controls safely
- Sweep up spilled waste or broken bags to keep customer stops immaculately clean
- Report blocked streets, broken carts, or route delays to drivers and dispatch teams
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required high-visibility safety clothing
Required Skills and Experience:
- Physical capability to perform continuous outdoor manual labor, lifting up to 50 lbs
- Comfort working outdoors in varying local weather conditions
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow verbal directions accurately
- Reliable attendance history and excellent punctuality
- Ability to start early morning work shifts
